The Vaccines - No Hope (Audio) (by TheVaccinesVEVO)

I came across Gung Ho, a surf pop/rock trio from Brisbane, while randomly surfing the Triple J Unearthed website. How and why I got there still remains a mystery but I’d be willing to bet that that’s how a lot of music discovery happens nowadays :).
Going by their last two singles – Twin Rays and Side By Side - Gung Ho has really softened and polished their sound compared to their early demos and now perform a more hooky and laid back brand of surf pop that is a lot more immediate.
Check out the two songs in question and keep an eye out for these guys in the future. Also do check out their brilliant tumblr blog.

Some of the lessons that this video brings to mind:
:)
I’m Sorry We Lied is taken from Blood Orange’ Coastal Grooves album.

Coming on the back of last years Welcome To Condale, Summer Camp - the British indie pop duo of Elizabeth Sankey and Jeremy Warmsley – plan to release Always, a 5 song EP in July 2012.
Honestly I found Life, the first song shared by the band to be decidedly underwhelming. The disco-ish title track though does redeem things a bit. Summer Camp seem to be going in for a more electro pop sound on this new EP, I have my misgivings about it but lets just wait and see how things turn out.

Can’t think of a better way to start the week than watch the PS22 Chorus help Walk The Moon perform a couple of my favourites – I Can Lift A Car & Anna Sun.
There is something magical and inspiring about both performances, it’s something that one of the band members elaborates on in the subsequent interaction with the kids. Brilliant stuff!
Happy Monday everyone :).

You Are The One is the first glimpse of A Place To Bury Strangers’ soon to be released album Worship (out on 26th June). It’s quite a mellow offering from the NYC noise rockers which simmers along ominously without really exploding.
Check it out below: the video is pretty gruesome and freakish aka NSFW so be warned!

Is Your Love Big Enough, the full length debut album by the lovely Lianne La Havas comes out on 9th July. Check out the video for the title track below.

Nothing like good rock music to wrap up the week :).
Cheers Elephant are a rootsy indie/psych rock quartet from Philadelphia. Formed in 2007 the band released their third album Like Wind Blows Fire early this month and I have to say it’s a bright, upbeat rock record replete with great songs.
Leaves is favourite song on the album (and one of my fav of 2012) but songs like Doin’ It Right and Thought & Commonsense aren’t far behind. Get a taste of Cheers Elephant below and if you like what you hear then I suggest that you head to Bandcamp to stream the entire album (it’s available at a ‘name your price’ tag, yes which means you can get it for free if you want!).

How good is Ben Howard hmm? Check him out performing a wicked cover of Carly Rae Jepsenâ 2011 hit single Call Me Maybe (a great pop song in its own right) for BBC below.
Hereâs the original song.
